Repeat After Me: Emma Watson’s Tits Have No Bearing On Her Status As A Feminist

Emma Watson

Last week, Emma Watson’s “Vanity Fair” feature hit shelves. Mere hours later, idiots across the world were crying foul, stating that a TRUE feminist wouldn’t go around showing her tits to everyone with access to a magazine stand.

Like this idiot:

Emma had the perfect response, naturally, because of course she did:

When we launched ‘The Sirens Rise’ back in January, one of the first pieces I published was a piece entitled, “Why Are So Many People Confused About What It Means To Be A Feminist?” In the article, I wrote about a personal experience I had at work in which a male colleague had a moment of clarity when we had an open discussion about what feminism actually MEANS. He sent me a snip of the Webster’s definition and said, “Yes. I agree with this”, and voila! Insta-feminist.

Apparently, however, there is still some confusion among the masses about what feminism actually means. It’s time for drastic measures, prepare to learn.

1. Feminism does NOT mean any one thing in particular, outside of CHOICE and EQUALITY
1a. Autonomy of one’s body and sexuality is a byproduct of choice
1b. Showing and sharing one’s body with the few or the many is a byproduct of choice
1c. Having sex or remaining chaste is a byproduct of choice
1d. Willingly & knowingly exposing the undercarriage of one’s tits does not diminish one’s status as a feminist because CHOICE
2. CHOICE
3. CHOICE
4. Feminism. Is. About. Choice.
5. C
6. H
7. O
8. I
9. C
10. E

The thing about feminism is, you don’t have to agree with everyone’s choices; to be a loyal member of the movement, all you have to do is support each other’s right to make them. If I had Emma Watson’s body, who is to say that I too wouldn’t pose in haute couture in “Vanity Fair” while Tim-freaking-Walker snapped breathtakingly beautiful and intimate portraits of me? At the end of the day, Watson’s gorgeous photo shoot is nothing more than artistic and creative expression through lens and fashion. She is an artist, always and forever.

But she is still also a humanitarian, a woman, a feminist, an activist, an ambassador, and a sexual, sensual being who decided to bare a little more than she had in the past, and got some magnificent photos to show for it.

I don’t care about Emma Watson’s tits. I care about what Emma Watson and her tits can do for women, and so far, Watson and her girls have fulfilled that role with endless style and grace.

In case you’ve somehow missed them, take a gander at the photos from Watson’s “Vanity Fair” shoot in the gallery below.
